Nominations for Eastern Bay Energy Trust open this Friday

Nominations open this Friday, 19 July 2019, for the election of two trustees to the Eastern Bay Energy Trust (Kawerau District Council area and Ōpōtiki District Council area). The Trust has a total of six trustees, including four elected and two appointed trustees. Of the four elected trustees, two are from the Whakatane District Council/Kaingaroa Village area, one from the Kawerau District Council area and one from the Ōpōtiki District Council area.

To be eligible for nomination, a candidate must be aged over 18 years, and be resident within the Kawerau District Council area or the Ōpōtiki District Council area.

Nomination papers are available from the Eastern Bay Energy Trust office, 5 Richardson Street, Whakatane, or by phoning the electoral office on 0800 922 822 to have one posted out or by accessing www.ebet.org.nz where one can be downloaded.

Nominations must be received by noon on Friday 9 August 2019.

If more than one nomination is received for either the Kawerau District Council or Ōpōtiki District Council areas, the election begins with the mailing of voting documents to electricity consumers in those District Council areas from Tuesday 10 September 2019.

Completed voting documents must be returned to the electoral officer by the close of voting at noon on Tuesday 1 October 2019, and the preliminary results will be available later that afternoon.
